I have programs from 20 years ago. I've never been able to bring myself to throw them all away. Think about how much the program committee puts into these booklets that are no longer used after it's sold the day of the games.
This program is from the last known Highland Games we were honored clan in the US held just north of Greensboro, NC not too far from the Virginia state border. We took a group picture in front of the tent that was published in The Highlander.
The Military Appreciation Ceremony had at least two WWII veterans that were present.
The Quaich
The story of heather
Several years ago David Best set up a "tasting" tent at his clan's space at Grandfather Mountain where we were able to sample his haggis and lamb stew which was wonderful! We were delighted to meet him at these games and remind him of that.
I've never seen a fly casting competition at any games; but what a great memorial for Mike McNally!
